About me
My name is Jose Paulo, but here they call me JP.
I started rowing in 1997 in São Paulo, Brazil, participating in regional, national, and university regattas. I realized that I wouldn't be a rower with international results, and in 2002 I entered the University to take the Physical Education course, with the objective of becoming a rowing coach with international achievements. As of 2005, I officially became a coach. In 2007 I won my first two world titles. I trained Olympic and Paralympic athletes, who had as their goals World Championships, Rowing World Cups, South American Games, Pan American Games, and Olympic/Paralympic Games. Despite working with athletes of different ages, my work has always been focused on developing young Olympic athletes and developing Paralympic athletes. Rowing also follows me in the academic area. In 2020, I defended my master's degree (Title: The Development of Talented Brazilian Rowers) and in 2021 I wrote my first book chapter (Para-Rowing) and started as a coach in the Philadelphia City Rowing.
